Promit is a finance executive with experience as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) across both institutional and start-up investment funds.

Most recently Promit was a Partner and CFO at West, a venture fund and design studio, where he established the finance function and helped raise West’s first venture fund.

Prior to West, Promit led finance and operations at multi-billion dollar funds with diverse investment strategies, including SVB Capital, WestBridge Capital, and Hall Capital Partners. In these roles, Promit built teams, established the right level of financial and operational discipline, managed all financial reporting, and played a key role in investor relations and reporting.

As CFO at SVB Capital, Promit led a significant transformation of the finance function including building out the team and transitioning from internal accounting systems to an administrator. As CFO and CCO at WestBridge Capital, Promit built out the finance, trading, compliance, and legal functions across multiple global offices. Promit was also responsible for WestBridge’s SEC registration and compliance. Previously, Promit was a Vice President at Hall Capital with operational oversight of its fund of fund group.

Promit began his career in the Audit practice of Deloitte and was a Senior Manager in the Transaction Advisory practice at Ernst & Young advising mid-market private equity investors.

Born and raised in Bombay, Promit appreciates vibrant and diverse cities, although he wouldn’t trade his years in the college-town of Ann Arbor where he attended the University of Michigan, earning both a BA in Economics and a Master of Accounting. Promit is a CPA (currently inactive).

While his career required an aptitude for numbers, Promit discovered what drives him is being a mentor and problem solver. Throughout his experiences, he has worked to remove complexity and build simple and scalable finance and operations while developing the right talent to support these functions.

Away from Frame, Promit can be found sharing financial advice over a meal and great bottle of wine with friends and family or cheering on his favorite Wolverines.
